Have you heard of Trunk Club? I would say it is definitely not as popular as Stitch Fix, but in my opinion it is better. Similar to Stitch Fix it has a styling fee, which you will be charged if you decide to send all of the items back. However, if you keep anything the $25 styling fee is deducted from the cost of that item. Shipping is free both ways.
My Stylist
Trunk Club sends more items than Stitch Fix. This time my box included ten items. You can set up for an auto-ship on a certain schedule, but I have opted out of this. My stylist, Kristina, reaches out to me via email every month or two to see if I would like to receive a box. When she reached out to me a couple weeks ago I told her that I was ready for a box and that I would like for it to be geared towards Spring Break travel.
This Box
Following is what I was sent, along with my thoughts on each item. There was also this Kean Wrap Crop Top included that I opted to leave in the box as it was not AT ALL my style. Please excuse my pasty white legs. Believe it or not, this was after a spray tan!!
1) Long Beach Tank ($20) & 501 Long Denim Shorts ($69)
For $20 you aren’t out much to keep this tank. I really like the neckline/cut of the top part of it, but it is the swing style on the bottom, which is not my style. I returned this tank. The shorts are cute from the front, but not the most flattering from the back (according to my husband). With a shirt that covers your bum they are cute though. I like them, but opted to return them because I had just ordered a few other pairs of denim shorts.
2) Follow Me Mock Neck Tank ($45) & KUT from the Kloth Boyfriend Side Slit Shorts (not online, sorry) ($39)
I didn’t think I was going to like this tank on and almost didn’t try it on, however it was much more flattering on than I thought it would be. However, I am not one to wear body-hugging tops so I opted to return it. The shorts however, I kept. I have a couple pairs of KUT from the Kloth jeans and really like how they fit. These shorts are flattering in their fit and comfortable. They can be dressed up with a nice top and strappy sandals or can be thrown over a wet swimsuit and look great both ways.
3) Tango at Night Romper ($78)
This is a very “springy” YELLOW romper. I like the back a lot, but felt like I would constantly be flashing people my chest so I returned it.
4) Shawna High Neck Dress ($50)
This dress is made of a very soft fabric and has a flattering fit. It will wrinkle in the suitcase and need steamed/ironed, but it is a good value and I can see myself wearing it throughout the summer. I kept this dress.
5) Soulmate Off the Shoulder Ruffle Top ($45)
This is made of a linen blend fabric that is perfect for tropical climates. I can see it at the beach or out on the town for an evening, as well as finding wear through the summer at home. I kept this top.
6) Island Fare Cover-Up Tunic ($80)
This is a very cute, classy cover up. I like the crochet detailing down the front and the cut/length. I have an issue with the white color though. Although it is pretty I don’t think white is a functional color in combination with the beach/ocean water and sunblock. Have you noticed how sunblock leaves orange-ish staining on white garments? For this price I don’t think it’s worth worrying about it getting ruined too quickly before I get my money’s worth out of it.
7) Spirit Cover-Up Vest ($60)
Isn’t this a unique cover up? I like the color/pattern of the fabric. It comes with instructions on how to wear it different ways; it was kind of intimidating! I thought it was cute, but Dale wasn’t impressed. In some cases I don’t let his opinions affect my decisions of what I keep or return, but between that and my intimidation of trying to get it on right I decided to return this cover-up.
That’s a wrap! Did you see anything you would have kept? If you enjoyed this post you might also enjoy this DAILY LOOK subscription box review.
