Stitch Fix Review

Have you heard of Stitch Fix?  I think most have by now.  It was the first subscription box to come on the scene (or at least the first one to take hold and get popular).  I have been receiving Stitch Fix boxes for a few years now.  You have the option to set up deliveries as desired, pay a $20 styling fee if you end up sending everything back and are sent five items.  Compared to other subscription boxes I would say that Stitch Fix is a little more economically priced, but sometimes this is evident in the quality of the garments.  In all honesty, I feel like the items I have been receiving lately have not been up to par and actually suspended my subscription for a while.  I decided to give it a try again and I’m on the fence on whether I will continue my subscription or suspend it again.  Following are the items I received in my last fix.

Stitch Fix Items Received

1) Montagne – Tesla Plunging Neckline Knit Top, $58

I did not do well getting pictures of this top.  It has an embroidery detail on the bodice that is not visible in these pictures.  I like the neckline of this top and the material does not wrinkle easily so it would be a great top to pack for traveling.  I did opt to return this top because I have several black tank style tops already.

2 & 3) Lila Ryan – Liza Skinny Jean, $99 & Tart Collections – Demi French Terry Blazer, $128

I am not a fan of the color of these pants – too bright for me.  Out of the box they looked like they would not fit well either.  However, I have to say I think that they fit really well and were flattering on.  I did return them because of the color.  I thought the blazer was cute out of the box, but when I first put it on I was not impressed.  It transformed once I pushed the sleeves up though.  I’ve heard this length of blazer is very in-style this season, but it is not for me.  Especially at that price point when I know I would only wear it on rare occasion.  I returned the blazer.

4) Wisp – Tressa Ponte Dress, $68

I was turned off by the color of this dress when I opened the box.  However, I love how it fit once I put it on.  It is a very flattering cut and a thicker fabric that helps smooth any lumps or bumps.  If it were a solid black or a more neutral color I would keep this dress but because of the bright color I opted to return it.

5) Bancroft – Moxie Hinge Bracelet, $28

This is a cute hinged bracelet.  Knowing that I was returning everything else and would pay the $20 styling fee if I returned this as well I opted to keep it since it essentially cost $8 after the styling fee that I was going to be charged regardless.
