Today I’m sharing one of my favorite beauty products: Rimmel’s ScandalEyes eyeliner in Nude. Since I started wearing makeup I have always struggled with eyeliner. It just isn’t ‘me.’ It always makes me feel like a fake. It’s just too much and I feel that it closes in my eye. To be honest, I love a good smokey eye and I am envious of the women all over Pinterest that make them look so good. I do experiment with dark eyeliner and trying my hand at a smokey eye from time to time, but it never seems to work for me. When I started wearing makeup I was told that eyeliner is supposed to open up the eye, but I never feel like I am successful at getting that effect. Until I discovered nude eyeliner, that is. I love nude eyeliner because it actually DOES open up the eye. It makes you look more awake, bright eyed and youthful.

To clarify, I don’t use eyeliner on my top lash line. I only use it on the water line of my lower lashes. A few years ago I saw a Pinterest post about using white eyeliner to achieve these same youthful, eye opening effects. I thought that might be worth a try, so I bought a stick of white eyeliner. It definitely worked better for me than a black/brown/gray liner and I did see the benefits that I read it would provide.
When I ran low on the white liner and went looking to replace it I couldn’t find any white liner. I did find nude colored liner though, so decided to give it a try. I like the effect of the nude liner even more, as it is a little noticeable so provides more of a natural look.
To give you a visual, here is a picture with one eye lined with the nude liner and the other eye lined with a gray liner. Can you see the difference? I wasn’t able to capture the difference in this picture as strongly as what I feel it is in person. On me, the dark liner gives a more severe, harsh effect.
Here is a picture that captures the benefit of the nude liner well. I have added eye shadow under my lash line that is the same color as the shadow on my eyelid.
