Hi guys, are you so excited that it’s Friday? I sure am! We have had some really great weather here in Illinois this week and it is supposed to continue into next week. The farmers are out in droves! The warmer weather definitely helps support diversity in the Shop My Closet roundup. It’s nice to break out of the jeans and cardigan routine!
Weekend Plans
Tomorrow is the 5K run that the high school Honor Society is putting on to fund raise for cancer research. Kadie is super excited to participate in it. It will be interesting to see if she will be working to keep up with me or if I will be the one working to keep up with her. I’m happy to have her as a running buddy. Dylan ran a couple races with me back when he was just a little older than Kadie, but my running escapades are usually done solo. I’m hoping this is something she sticks with and can be my running buddy for years to come. She had a track meet yesterday and ran the mile in 6:50. I am impressed! After the run tomorrow I need to take her to a running store to get some insoles. She has a sore heal from all of the running she is doing.
Short Term Goal
I would like to find a half marathon to run during the month of May. That means that I need to make the time for a long run once a week, but with the weather warming up it sounds great to get outside and do some road running. I find that I am also much more motivated when I have a goal to focus on.
Projects
Our barn is now full with all of the livestock projects the kids will be showing over the next six to eight months. Chase’s favorite is a pig he has named Rueben (after a pig from Minecraft story mode). I believe Tara’s would be her Angus steer, Ralph and Kadie hasn’t been in the barn too much with track practice and meets to have decided on a favorite yet. She also like Rueben quite a bit though.
We have an embryologist coming in next week to do some training work with us on laparoscopic artificial insemination and embryo transfer work with our wether goat business. He is an incredibly intelligent and interesting person with some amazing stories about his travels and experiences working with endangered species all over the world.
I have a DIY decor project that I am going to be working on this weekend. If all goes as planned I will document it and share it with you next week.
There is another project have been working on as well over the past couple of weeks that is coming together and I am hoping to be able to share with you all hopefully next week as well.

Alright, sizing for reference – I am 5’2″ and weigh 105 pounds. I wear a size 25/26 in jeans and a 0/2 or XS in tops and dresses. If petite is an option for the shorter length I will generally go that route.

It was a work-from-home, nobody-will-see-me kind of a day on this day. No makeup and I’m pretty sure that I didn’t even brush my hair… These leggings are amazing though. They do not stretch out AT ALL and they are not see through AT ALL. They do not pill either. I promise this will be a purchase that you will never regret.

Sunshine and minimal wind was a recipe for dress weather! This sweatshirt dress is a great transitional spring piece to have in your wardrobe.

This dress is SO cute! I am in love with the bell sleeves, the length is perfect and it is a slightly thicker material AND it’s on major sale TODAY! It is currently under $35 through midnight tonight!!
