Happy Friday guys! This week has flown by. Outside of blogland it has been a whirlwind week. I’ve got two kittens going to their new homes out of country tomorrow, one to Canada and one to Germany. Because of the wild heritage in the Savannahs there is extra paperwork/permits and inspections involved with sending them out of country. Getting all of those inspections scheduled and paperwork in line has been a bit stressful, but all is well.
We have also had an embryologist in from Canada this week working with us on Embryo Transfer in our livestock operation. In the past we have paid a team to come in and do all of the embryo transfer work for us, but we have found a new embryologist that is willing to train us to be his staff for the procedure. I have been given the task of finding and recovering the embryos from the collection dish after they are flushed out of the donor female. This is done under a microscope (obviously, right?). After the embryos are collected and moved into a new holding dish that is free of the debris that comes through the uterus with the embryos they are graded for quality and eventually sorted off and pulled, two or three at a time, into a catheter to be implanted into the recipient female.
There is a lot of expense that goes into doing flush work and every embryo is quite valuable. I was so nervous to be the one in charge of finding and sorting the embryos! Hernan, the embryologist, is a great teacher and so patient and encouraging. On the first day my stomach was in knots over the whole process and getting the sorted embryos drawn up to be implanted into the recipient was a time sensitive, quick process. By day two I was feeling much more confident about my job and really enjoyed being a part of it. I did miss an embryo when searching, but thank goodness Hernan went behind me to double check and was able to recover the embryo.

For sizing reference, I am 5’2″, 105 pounds and wear an XS, 0-2 in tops and dresses and a size 25/26 in jeans, depending on the brand.
I really like the cut of the neckline and sleeves of this blouse, it is really flattering. There are two pleats in the back that help keep it from being too bulky. These white jeans are my favorite pair of the three that I own. They don’t have real front pockets, but the fit and the way they maintain their shape makes them an easy favorite.
Black Blouse // White Jeans // Steve Madden Wedges
These joggers are going to be on repeat. They are so soft an incredibly comfortable. Like wearing jammies all day!
Striped Tee // Joggers // Nikes
The neckline and sleeves on this top are similar to the black blouse above. This tee also has a small chest pocket that is super cute and it drapes really nicely. These Article of Society jeans are new and I am happy with the purchase. They are a reasonably priced brand that is good quality and keep their shape throughout the day.
Patagonia Tee // Jeans // Nikes (similar)
See, joggers on repeat…
And there are my favorite black jeans again. I usually wear them every week. They are so versatile and flattering!
Denim Jacket // Tee // Black Jeans (Best Ever!) // Wedge Sandals
I hope you have a great weekend! Tomorrow is the Supercross finale race. The forecast says it is going to be 97 degrees!! The stadium is outdoors… I would much rather be hot than cold, but I’m a little worried we are going to cook. Then on the flip side once the sun goes down I know it is going to get chilly. I’ve learned this over the years and pack a sweater along, even though I look crazy carrying a sweater around when it is 97!
