Stith Fix Review

How It Works

A quick recap on how it works in case you are new on the scene: When you subscribe to Stitch Fix you go through a set of questions where you provide your sizes/measurements for fit, select sets of clothing style boards to give the stylists guidance on your tastes and select how often you would like to receive a box.  You will receive five items to try on at home, decide what you like and send back the rest in the prepaid envelope.  If you send everything back you will be charged a $20 styling fee, which includes shipping both ways.  If you keep anything the $20 styling fee is subtracted from your total.  It’s a fun pick me up to receive a box of goodies to try out on occasion!

This Month’s Fix

My stylist did a good job of sending pieces that are season appropriate.  I’ll start out with this combo of shorts and blouse.  Both are pieces that were in my fix.  The Hazel Sancia Tie Neck Blouse ($64) is different.  I didn’t think I would like it at all out of the box, but once on I thought it was unique and visually interesting.  However, I did choose to return it as I don’t foresee myself wearing it much.  The Margaret M Lea Printed Shorts on the other hand, I really like.  They are a stretch fabric that slip on without a zipper.  I was confused when I first looked at them, thinking I had to be missing the zipper.  There is not an apparent elastic waistband so you wouldn’t think that they would have enough stretch in them to get over your hiney.  They do though!  I thought these were a great length and flattering on.  I could see myself wearing them on occasion.  At $68 I didn’t think I could justify only wearing them on occasion though so I chose to return them.

Next up is the Harleen Faux Suede Dress by Cupcakes and Cashmere ($108).  This dress is not my style.  I don’t like the material or the lacing detail down the front.  It also has just enough of a racerback/narrow cut through the shoulders that your bra straps want to hang out.  I sent this back.

The Calvin Klein Esra Lasercut Tank ($58) was my favorite item in my box.  It has a flattering cut and hangs well.  It is a little dressier than what I wear most of the time so I did return this top, but I did think it was super cute.

And finally is this Milla Circle Layer Bracelet by Bancroft ($34).  I like the multiple strands in this bracelet and the softer, dull finish.  It was a bit too big on my little wrist so I returned it.
