Are you aware of the current Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? I have to admit that I am burnt out on seeing all of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts on Instagram. Is it just me that is bombarded with them because that is my ‘niche’ and most the people I am following are interested in it or have you seen it all too? I’m hoping that you haven’t and this post will be enlightening to you. This sale is on new, upcoming seasonal items (sweaters, cardigans, boots) rather than items that will soon be going out of season. A lot of the things are about 40% off. If you have been eyeing any designer items the sale could provide you a substantial savings. I am not one to want to spend designer prices, so a lot of the stuff that interested me was $20-$40 off the regular price.
A lot of bloggers seem to be a bit pushy/over excited telling their following to ‘hurry, buy now while it is still in stock!’ However, it seems that Nordstrom plays a bit of a game by only uploading so much stock each day. Things to appear to sell out, but then often are available again within a day or two. Up until today you had to be a Nordstrom card holder to shop the sale items, but starting now anyone has access to the sale items. The sale runs through August 5th.
I don’t really enjoy shopping in-store at Nordstrom. I always find cute stuff online that I missed in the store and I’m not a big fan of the commission-based employees that can be a bit pushier because of being commission-based. I do love the variety and quality that Nordstrom offers however and because of this it has become my go-to for online shopping. After shopping in-store and buying a few items I came home and shopped online, adding a few more items to my wardrobe. Those items haven’t come in yet. When they do I will put together another post for you. I can tell you I ordered these Spanx faux leather moto leggings. They are on sale for $72, versus the $110 at full price. I have been eyeing them for several months and know that come fall I will have to have them, so I’m happy to save the $40 and get them now.
Some of the things I tried on are not part of the anniversary sale, but I’ll share with you everything that I tried on.
This V-Neck sweater has been super popular on social media this past week. It comes in multiple colors and the texture adds a lot of visual interest. You might think the texture would make it itchy, but it isn’t. The bell sleeves are a little different. I tried it on in a small to try to add some length. I really like the v-neckline for pairing with a cute bralette. These jeans are a great length for us shorter gals and are a great price. They are not part of the sale, but are only $45 regular price.

I saw this top on social media in the red option, but I preferred the blue. In person I felt the red color was a bit off. This top is super soft and will be great for fall. I’m looking forward to some cooler days to be able to wear it.
These Free People skinny cargos are not part of the sale, but I thought they were too cute not to try on. They didn’t have a size 26 in store so I tried on a 27 and they fit well. They have a ton of stretch in them and hold their shape well. They have a button fly and an exposed hem. I see them being something that can be worn in any season, paired with the right top and accessories. They don’t exactly match this plaid top too well, but I was being lazy and didn’t grab a top to try on with them for your viewing pleasure, sorry!
This thermal top was another non-sale item. Once I touched it I had to try it on. It is super, super soft! These Paige olive skinny jeans are made of a thicker material and are a great fall color.

This sweater is another very soft item. I tried it on in a large because I thought it looked really small. While I like how the large fit through the body the sleeves fit like size large sleeves. I was not able to find this top on the Nordstrom website, sorry. These faded black skinny jeans were very comfortable. I am not quite ready for knees that are this ripped out, although I think they are cute when I see them on other people.

This cami has been all over Instagram for several months. I love seeing it and think it is very pretty, but it definitely leaves you quite exposed! I felt a little less exposed with the cardigan overtop. It is a very soft cardigan that comes in multiple colors. Can you tell what I was drawn to… soft! I think my psychy is ready for fall!
This top was my favorite piece that I tried on. It is beyond soft and cozy. I love how it pairs over the bralette and think it is the perfect dusty pink. It is another piece that comes in multiple colors. I ended up ordering it online in the dark gray and keep contemplating the yellow (not at all ‘my’ color, but I can’t seem to get it out of my head!). If there is one item that I would urge you is worth purchasing this is definitely it! These AG jeans do not disappoint. Typical for AG, they do not stretch out and fit well. They are on sale for $150, marked down from $225. A great deal if you are willing to spend that much on a pair of jeans. I have a couple of times, but then I feel so guilty about it! I would rather buy three new pairs of AE jeans than one pair of these. What do you think?
Another item I have seen on Instagram and really liked is this boyfriend cardigan. However, in person I thought maybe it was a little too bulky?? I also found it to be a little itchy. This is another item I was not able to find on the Nordstrom website?? Maybe it is currently out of stock?? I paired it over a great staple tank that is a very pretty dusty blue-gray color.
These Zella high-waisted leggings are THE best leggings. They are the perfect thickness, do not pill and remain deep black wash after wash. I bought myself a pair last winter and absolutely love them. I did not try these leggings on in-store, but have pictures on file that I pulled from. When I saw them on sale when browsing the online inventory I knew I had to let you guys know how great they are.
That’s all for now! Have you browsed the anniversary sale items? Anything you can’t live without?
I am currently eyeing THIS Gibson x Hi Sugarplum stretch knit pencil skirt and THIS Gibson x Hi Sugarplum gingham ruffle sleeve top, both on sale for under $35.
