Last year going into Spring Break we were getting ready to head to Thailand for vacation. It was easy to justify some spring/vacation shopping. This year we vacationed to Africa (post coming soon!) where the name of the game was neutral attire… Not so conducive to spring wardrobe staple shopping.
I still couldn’t resist adding a few things to my wardrobe over the past month that I am confident will prove to be spring staples for me so I thought I would take a few minutes to gather them up and share them with you today.
First up are these striped linen pants. I’m really loving the muted red stripe. I did buy these thinking that they would be good for vacation or traveling. But really they are good for any occasion, or no occasion at all! I also picked up these Treasures & Bond wedge sandals that I have been eyeing for the last year. I was excited to see that they were available again this year because I was kicking myself for holding off from buying them last year.
These bright red-orange cotton twill pants were calling my name. I tried to ignore them because I am not one to wear bright colors, but for some reason I couldn’t resist! Maybe it is the summer vibe that I couldn’t resist in the midst of the freezing cold! They are just too cheery.
These Pixie pants are such a pretty color! And they come in multiple other colors as well. This pair has a stripe detail down the outside leg, but only a couple of colors had that. These are a good transition piece for when the sun is shining and it looks warm, but really it is still kind of chilly.
I have a hard time resisting stripes, in case you haven’t figured that out yet! I saw this lightweight sweater all over social media and fell in love with it more every time I saw it. Its a great spring staple, whether worn alone or thrown over top of a tee when needed.
These shorts are the AE Tomgirl shorts with a button fly. They are stitched on the outside seam to stay partially ‘rolled’ and I love the distressing in this pair. I’ve read a lot of people say to size up for a better fit, but I sized down. I actually ordered them in two sizes and found that the larger size was just too big/wide.
This off the shoulder sweater isn’t too ‘spring-ish’ but would still work for cooler nights. It has a bit of a belled sleeve and a slubby fit, but then the off the shoulder detail steps up its game.
I’m on the Tomgirl bandwagon! These are the Tomgirl jeans and again, I love them! I think they could be dressed up for an edgy look with a pair of heels or kept super casual with a pair of converse and a graphic tee.
I bought these camo pants, they arrived and I loved them. Then the next day I received another pair in my March Wantable Box… What to do. I kept them both. This pair is a little looser fitting and made from a thinner material. I wore these for the 40+ hours of flight to and from Africa and I didn’t regret it for a minute. They are super comfortable, but still offer a put-together look.
Did I mention my love for stripes, haha! I just picked this striped sweatshirt up a few days ago and I seriously want to spend every. waking. minute it in! It is super soft and cozy. I sized up to a medium for a looser, cozier fit.
As you can see, I found plenty of spring wardrobe additions! I’m so ready for some nice weather to put them to use. It is very slowly starting to turn to spring here in the Midwest. Our grass has greened up a considerably amount in just the last couple of days. Its good for the soul.
I’m still sorting and saving pictures from our Africa trip to share with you guys. It’s going to be hard to sort down to a manageable number to share with you!
Happy Spring!
