DAILYLOOK Review #1
Receiving subscription boxes of clothes is like having a mini-Christmas each month. Fun, right? The way it works is that a stylist reviews your profile, then puts together a box of 6-8 items to send your way. The upside of DailyLook over some of the other subscription box options is that with DailyLook you are emailed a preview of what is in your box and you are able to review the items and remove any that you do not like. Your stylist will then replace them with different items. You don’t get to review it more than once, but it is still helpful for weeding out some items you are certain you won’t like. For the possible loss of the nominal styling fee I am charged if I don’t choose to purchase any of the items I was sent I figure I get my money’s worth out of the enjoyment of trying out the items my stylist sent. Again, mini-Christmas. And I do usually end up keeping one or two of the items.
1. Michael Stars LS Allie Knit Tunic Top, $88
This tunic top is such a pretty color. Pulling it out of the box I didn’t think I would like it because it is quite heavy in weight and a bit stretchy. I didn’t think it would drape well. I was pleasantly surprised and liked it on much more than I thought I would. I did think it was a bit too long for my shorter frame however. I returned this top.
2. Fine by Superfine Sapporo Tee, $88
This black t-shirt was just that, a black t-shirt. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, but there wasn’t anything special about it either. I can definitely think of a lot better things to spend $88 on. I returned this top.
3. Tart Collections Darla Dolman Sleeve Shawl Cardigan, $154
I didn’t think I would like this cardigan on, but with the right outfit it was very cute. However, the sleeves were kind of awkward and it wanted to work its way off the shoulder. Like the black t-shirt, this cardigan was priced higher than what would prefer to spend for an item like this. I returned this cardigan.
4. Jack by BB Dakota Waffle Stitched Pullover Sweater, $75
The color of this knit sweater is a deep blue. In bright light it appears to have a purple cast. Out of the box I thought it was ‘just ok’ and didn’t think I would get too excited about it once on. It looked like it wasn’t going to fit well. However, I was wrong and I actually really liked it once I tried it on. I chose to keep this sweater.
5 & 6. Fine by Superfine Vision High Low Top, $148 & Just Black Ariane Destroyed Mid Rise Skinny Crop, $98
The material on the front of this tunic is kind of a slub-style material and on the back it is a crepe-y material. It is way long in the back. Not my style, I returned this top. I really wanted to like these jeans, as I have been searching for a pair of white skinny jeans to add to my wardrobe. However, the distressing was too much for me and the material was too thin. I returned these jeans.
7. Just Black Ariel Mid Rise Cropped and Distressed Fray Hem Skinny Jeans, $88
I fell in love with these black jeans, both out of the box and once I put them on. They fit really, really well and are extremely flattering. Like the white jeans above they are a frayed hem ankle length jean. At only 5’2″ the length of these is great on me, but taller women would probably have an issue with the length. I kept these jeans and have already wore them a couple of times without any problem with them stretching out and getting saggy. I have found that Just Black is one of my go-to brands for jeans. They are not too high priced while being of great quality.
That’s it for this DailyLook box review. Did you find any items that you would like to add to your wardrobe?
