Stith Fix Review

Another month has passed and I have another Stitch Fix box to review with you today.  Let’s jump right into it!

How It Works

A quick recap on how it works in case you are new on the scene: When you subscribe to Stitch Fix you go through a set of questions where you provide your sizes/measurements for fit, select sets of clothing style boards to give the stylists guidance on your tastes and select how often you would like to receive a box.  You will receive five items to try on at home, decide what you like and send back the rest in the prepaid envelope.  If you send everything back you will be charged a $20 styling fee, which includes shipping both ways.  If you keep anything the $20 styling fee is subtracted from your total.  It’s a fun pick me up to receive a box of goodies to try out on occasion!

This Month’s Stitch Fix Box

My stylist decided to go with a theme this month and sent me articles that were blue or white, or a combination of the two.  I love this color combo, especially for summer.  I decided to go with it and continue the theme by pairing each piece with items out of my closet that were also blue or white.

This lined Skies are Blue, Janice Keyhole Halter Blouse, $54, offers a good fit, drape and length. I am not one for the cut-out detail, but otherwise I really like this top. I wore a bra with straps that crossed in the back and it was 98% concealed. If you look really closely you can see a tiny bit of strap peeking out where the neckline meets the arm opening. A strapless or silicone bra would be required to not have any sign of bra strap. The length of this blouse is great for being able to wear it tucked in or left untucked and it looks great both ways. It would be cute tucked into a high waisted skirt or a pair of paper bag shorts. It would also look great untucked with a pair of slim dress pants and could be dressed up further by throwing on a blazer overtop of it. Lots of options! I do think this piece is a little more ‘work wear/dressy’ than what I wear 95% of the time so I opted to return it.

Cotton Twill Shorts // Slip-on Espadrilles

Next up is this Daniel Rainn – Savona Woven Ruffle Detail Knit Tee, $54.  The ruffle detail on this tee is darling and definitely in my color palette. As I’ve stated several times over the past few months, I can be a little slow to adopt trends. I’m not sure how much I would grab this piece when deciding what to wear. I can say that the t-shirt material is buttery soft and the shirt hangs/drapes well. But, the woven cotton material of the ruffles would definitely require a lot of attention after each wash. Taking all of this into consideration I decided to return this top.

White Cut-offs // Sandals

These white Liverpool skinny jeans, $88, were the let down in the box. I’m sure you noticed the problem immediately – the oversized calf area. I’ll admit, I have chicken calves. I’ve had chicken calves my whole life. I totally girl crush when I see pictures of ladies that have sexy, sculpted legs with shapely calves on Instagram. But, I think even for the average-calved girl these pants wouldn’t work. But if you have larger calves these jeans could be great for you. I did appreciate that the front pocket material was a nude color so the pockets didn’t show through. I returned these jeans.

Plaid Top (sold out, similar) // Slip-on Espadrilles

Now for my favorite item in the box, these Margaret M, Lea Printed Shorts. $68! Aren’t they so cute!! They are very similar to the pair I was sent in last month’s box that I really liked, but I couldn’t resist the color of this pair. They are super flattering, as comfortable as can be and versatile. I dressed them up with this off the shoulder top and nude wedges, but they could be dressed down with a white tee, denim jacket and a pair of white sneakers. I kept these shorts.

The last item in the box was this Jill Michael, Elliot Pre-Layered Bar Necklace, $28. I’m loving dainty, layered jewelry right now so this piece totally had my number. I kept this necklace.

I hope you enjoyed the contents of my June Stitch Fix box!  It is the best box I have received in quite some time.  Were there any pieces that you would have kept?
