Bringing you this week’s installment of Instagram Looks to Copy in air. Currently I am sitting on a plane headed to Tokyo where we will layover for four hours before catching a six hour flight into Bangkok. There is a 12 hour time difference between Illinois and Bangkok. We will arrive at 6:30 in the morning on Friday, having left Chicago at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. I am hoping to catch up on some sleep during this long leg since Dale and I were up until 3 am Wednesday morning trying to get everything in order to be able to be gone.
Last year when we made this trip my ankles and feet swelled really bad. To the point that I could barely get my shoes on, it hurt to walk and it took two days for the swelling to subside. I don’t typically swell. So this year I did a little research before the trip and found two things that are supposed to make a big difference. The first is compression socks and the second is drinking a lot of water. Not wanting to go through what I did last year I bought myself a pair of compression socks and I am rocking them right now in combination with my dress, #supersexy. I’ve drank more water in the last four hours than I usually drink in four days… I’ll update you in my next post as to whether or not these things helped. Fingers crossed!!
Bangkok
Our plan is to drop our bags at our hotel, the super-swanky W Hotel, for safe keeping (it is too early to check in) before heading to New Bungsamran Lake for a day of epic fishing. It is there that anglers catch 40-50 pound Mekong Catfish about as fast as your bait ball hits the water all. day. long. It is an experience of a lifetime.
We are going to try to make it to a night market (mostly so we can experience the tuk-tuk ride) after fishing all day. I honestly don’t know that we will make it. Last year I was a zombie by 7 pm on the first night (remember, that is 7 am home time). The night markets are pretty great in and of themselves, but the tuk-tuk’s are crazy. I’ll make sure to get some good pictures for you!!
I am wearing wedges that give me a couple inches advantage over Chase in this picture. It won’t be long before my newly minted teen passes me up.
I’ve got a little more time before this one catches me, thank goodness.
I can’t wait to share this trip with you all. This is our third time visiting Thailand, but I think I’m more excited than ever before! I bought a new camera for the trip. Hopefully I’ll be able to figure out how to use it and will get some amazing photos that will do justice for the beauty of southern Thailand.
Oh Yeah, the Instagram Roundup
Do you know what the most popular dress is on Instagram? In my feed it’s easily this tulip hem ruched tank dress by Leith. It’s such a cute piece (one I have packed in my suitcase to wear in Thailand) that seems to be flattering on pretty much any body type, #win. It can be dressed up or down, wore to run errands or to a ball game, but just as easily paired with a pair of wedges and some jewelry for a date night with your beau. So versatile. And because of that all the fashionable ladies of Instagram have been singing its praises for quite some time.
I rounded up some of those images so you can see just what I am talking about.

Ta-da!! I told you it looks great on everyone. Who do you think styled it best? What are your favorite accessories to this Leith tulip hem tank dress? It sells for $56 on Nordstrom’s website, but sometimes certain colors go on sale.
Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you’ll come back for more posts about our Thailand trip, as well as more fashion/style posts. You can see last week’s Instagram Looks to Copy HERE!
