Happy Friday Guys!! Are you ready for this week’s Shop My Closet post? To be honest I am all turned around on my days this week with so much time spent on the road. We left last Saturday afternoon to travel to Grand Island, Nebraska, a nine hour drive, for the National ABGA/JABGA goat show. The kids showed on Sunday and Monday. We packed up Monday evening and headed out. Tara and Craig headed home in order for Tara to turn around and leave a few hours later for the State FFA Convention while Dale, myself and the Littles headed through Kansas and Missouri, stopping to spend a night with family in Kansas and then to have dinner with Dylan, our oldest, in Columbia, MO. It was really nice to see family. We then spent the better part of the day Wednesday in Springfield, IL at the FFA Convention attending a luncheon and awards session for Tara receiving a State Proficiency award. We drove from there straight to Kadie’s basketball game. Then yesterday we headed back down by Springfield for another livestock show. Like I said, lots of time o the road!! My poor Frenchie pups are feeling abandoned! When we got home Wednesday night Ever jumped into the open car door while I was unloading and refused to get out. Then when I opened a suitcase to start unpacking it she climbed in and again refused to move from there!
The metal roof is coming along. It was kind of exciting to be away for a few days and then come home to see a big chunk finished. I can’t wait for it to be done to see the finished product. Unfortunately it sounds like the painter is pretty busy and it may be a bit of a wait on that. The color of the new roof doesn’t match the current color of the house at all, but oh well.
Next week we have our embryologist coming in for another flush. We are doing a full day of laparoscopic artificial insemination and then two days of embryo flushing/transferring. We will also be ultrasounding the recipients we implanted embryos in two months ago. Hopefully we will have good results.

Anyways! On with it. For reference I am 5’2″ and 105 pounds. I wear an XS or size 0-2 in tops and dresses and a size 25/26 in pants, depending on the brand. If I have the option of petite sizes I will often go that route for the shorter length.
I wore these Tomgirl pants from American Eagle for traveling to Nebraska. I was super excited to try these pants out. They make them in jeans too. They are very comfortable and a cute, relaxed feel and look.

It was 99 degrees this day. I was happy to have shorts and a drapey top that was super soft and didn’t cling! These Express shorts are on sale for $15 currently. They have them in a low rise and a mid rise version, both being a great option for when you want to dress ‘up’ a little more than cutoffs. I have several pairs and they are becoming my go-to shorts this summer. I have them in blue in a size 0 and they stretch out quite a bit throughout the day. I ordered this olive green pair in a 00.
Peplum Tee // Shorts // Sperrys
I ordered this sheer peplum blouse from J.Crew and I LOVE it! It drapes really nice and is a great length. I wore a nude tank underneath it to prevent show through. The earrings are also from J. Crew and are the perfect pop of color with an outfit like this.

This emerald scalloped cami is also from J. Crew. It is lined and the straps are adjustable, which I love. It comes in a variety of colors too! I love the way a cami can dress up a pair of cutoffs enough to give you a put together, chic look.

If you caught yesterday’s post you know that this is what I wore to the awards banquet for Tara’s FFA State Proficiency recognition. I have paired this cami with jeans, shorts and this skirt and l love it with all of them. Definitely $19 well spent. This was the first opportunity I have had to wear the skirt and I am super happy with the purchase. High-wasited, pinstriped and pockets – all things I love!

I hope you had a great week and have some fun weekend plans! I don’t think we have any set weekend plans. Probably catching up on things after being away for several days. Not too much fun, but that’s alright. I’ll enjoy loving on those pups that have been missing me!
