Another month has gone by and I have a new DAILY LOOK box review to share with you today. In case you are new to it, DAILY LOOK is a clothing subscription program. After filling out a profile to educate your stylist about you and your tastes a monthly box of about 6-9 items will start being sent your way. You try on the items in the comfort of your own home, decide what you like and send the rest back. They make it super easy by including a return bag (or you can reuse the box the items came in) with a return label. Checkout is also a breeze, either with their DL phone app or on your desktop. If you didn’t like anything you received and opted to send everything back you would be charged a $40 styling fee. However, if you keep just one item that fee is waived. I have always found at least one item that I like!
If you have been following along here you know that I also receive Stitch Fix boxes. I have been for a few years now. They have a slightly lower subscription fee, but my gripe with them is that I rarely ever have the same stylist from one box to the next. Yes, they have style profiles that you fill out, but I still think it’s hard for someone new to ‘get you’ and know what kind of things to send you. With DAILY LOOK I have always had the same stylist, Diane, who I feel truly has a sense for my styles/likes and dislikes. Another great advantage over Stitch Fix is that DAILY LOOK provides a preview of what you will be receiving where you are able to give input and remove any items that you know are not to your liking. The removed items will be replaced with different choices.
June DailyLook Box
This gauzy white RAGA midi dress ($78) screams summer. It would be a great option for the 4th of July or just an evening out. It is lined with a mid-thigh length built-in slip and has interesting cut-out details on the back. I personally love the length and the flirty fullness of the skirt portion. The low cut and fitted top half is balanced nicely by the flare of the bottom half. The material wrinkles easily, but the wrinkles fall right out with a quick pass over with a steamer (I use the PurSteam travel steamer and love it). If you planned to pack this dress in a suitcase I would recommend packing your steamer as well. I did opt to return this dress because my petite stature caused the v-neckline to plunge too low for my liking. If I were a little bit taller or the straps were adjustable it would have been a keeper.
RAGA Midi Dress // Silicon Bra // Flats
These black faux suede skorts ($68) surprised me. When I first pulled them out of the box my first impression was that they weren’t for me. However, once I put them on and realized how soft the material is and how comfortable they are I quickly changed my mind. However, they run big and were too big for me to keep. If interested in these, make sure to size down. They could easily be dressed down paired with a tee and slip-on sneakers or dressed up paired with a cami and heels.
Faux Suede Skort // Ruffle Top // Flats
This flowy white ruffle top ($62) will make any look office-ready. Or maybe it would be good for a wedding or other occasion. It definitely feels dressier than something that you would choose to throw on any-ole day. The neckline is super feminine, which I love. I felt it was a little too long (at least on my 5’2” frame) to wear untucked. I think it would pair well with a high waisted skirt or a pair of paper bag shorts. I received a pair of paper bag shorts in last month’s DAILYLOOK box and just adore them!! I chose to return this top since it is a little on the dressier side and I unfortunately do not have many opportunities to dress in such a manner.
Ruffle Top // Joggers // Flats
This gray Minnie knit tank ($38) is my least favorite item in my box. It just feels frumpy to me. With the twist detail on the front I feel like it can’t be tucked in and it seems a bit long to me, which would be good if you wanted to wear it with a pair of leggings though, so it just depends on your pairing preference. I prefer other materials over knits. Knit materials are clingy and heavier. I returned this top.
This black diamond jacquard cami ($38) was another piece that grew on me considerably when I tried it on. I was afraid it was going to be too big and my small frame would get lost in it, but that is not the case at all. The straps are adjustable and it has the most fantastic low cut back. It’s a statement piece that is classy and sexy at the same time. I kept this cami top.
Black Cami // Shorts (40% Off)
Denim skirts are so ‘in’ right now. I actually found one from about ten years ago when I cleaned out my closet a couple months ago! I love the raw edge hemline on this J Brand Mini A-Line skirt ($128) and it’s a great length. However, it is really high waisted (which I know is also totally ‘in’ right now) and I am having a difficult time accepting that trend. It is also priced higher than what I am comfortable paying for a denim skirt so I returned it. FYI – when checking out price is one of the points that you are questioned on for each piece. Is it a ‘great deal,’ ‘just right’ or ‘too high?’ This helps your stylist cater to your wishes for future boxes.
Black Cami // Denim Skirt // Flats
How about this lovely floral maxi dress ($108)? Isn’t it pretty? It would be great to wear to a summer wedding. I really like how the spaghetti straps crisscross in the back. I also really like the slit detail. It is a pretty heavy dress, being fully lined. With no summer weddings in my future I sadly returned this dress.
And last, but certainly not least, is this frilly surplice romper ($68). I had high hopes for this little number right out of the box. Maybe the best part about it is that it doesn’t wrinkle, making it a great piece to travel with. The color is feminine, as is the ruffle trim. Another sweet detail is the little cut-out detail on the sides of the hemline. (I know this is called something specific, maybe shirttail hemline, but I’m completely drawing a blank). You could dress this down pairing it with a denim jacket and a pair of slip-on sneakers and be the cutest gal at the ball field! I definitely kept this piece.
What did you think? Do you like the things that Diane sent this month? Do you subscribe to any clothing subscriptions? If you don’t and have been thinking about it I promise you will enjoy your DAILY LOOK experience!
