Happy Friday Guys! I hope you had a great holiday.  I feel thrown off with the 4th falling right in the middle of the week.  You get tricked into thinking it’s a weekend, but really there were two more days in the week.

Things were a bit slower around here this week.  It’s been really nice.  We’ve had more quality family time – spending time doing barn chores as a family, family movie night and a campfire (my fave!).  I got a wild hair and decided to spruce up our upper patio.  I went in search of a patio furniture set, which proved to be quite challenging.  I would have thought that the beginning of July would mean lots of available options, but I was wrong.  For instance, Target is clearancing/packing up their patio/outdoor section.  This turned out to by not such a bad thing though, as I was able to add an outdoor rug and a fire feature to our patio for a fraction of the original price.  Any of the smaller patio furniture sets that I am finding that I like are running about $2,000.  Ouch!  So for now I reworked what I had and am happy with what I was able to put together.

I’ve started using a new workout app.  It’s called ‘Seven.’  There are three different plans you can choose from – Get Strong, Get Fit or Lose Weight. The concept is that it provides seven minute circuits.  You can choose how many times you want to run through the circuit.  Each circuit is comprised of twelve 30-second intervals with 10-second transitions in between exercises.  Each day of the week focuses on a different muscle group.  If you aren’t feeling the workouts you can change instructors.  I’ve been using it for about a week now and am running through the circuits twice.  I was feeling uninspired and kind of ‘over’ working out so decided to change things up to pull myself through the burn out.  I have been feeling sore in new places, so although I am only doing 15 minute workouts I am feeling the benefits, both physically and mentally.

Today we are gearing up for another couple days of embryo transfer work with our goat operation.  Kadie is super excited that it is her turn to be the embryologist’s assistant!  Chase and Tara both had the opportunity on his last visit, so it’s Kadie’s turn this time.  Fingers crossed that all goes well and we end up with a high number of quality embryos and responsive recipients to be able to implant the embryos into.

Because it was a slower week that didn’t involve much physical labor I wore a lot of dresses.  Its funny how you (I) don’t realize that you (I) are wearing the same kind of thing on repeat until you look back at what you’ve wore for the past week.  I’ve noticed this a few times when I have been putting the Shop My Closet posts together.

For reference, I am 5’2″ and 105 pounds.  I wear an XS/0-2 in tops and dresses and a 25/26 in pants, depending on the brand.  If I have the option for petite sizing I will generally choose that for the shorter lengths.  I am not particularly curvy in any area.

This white midi dress by BP is so sweet.  It has crochet trim detail on the bodice, as well as the bottom. The bodice is smocked in the back for a sure fit.  I’m loving this midi length right now.  I think it adds immediate class.  This dress has a second liner layer that you can see in one of the pictures that is mid-thigh length.  When I ordered this they were out of XS, so I ordered an XXS and crossed my fingers.  It is snug to get on in the XXS, but once on it is comfortable.

I’ve been after this Leith Racerback Dress for probably six weeks now.  Every time I try to order it all the color options that I like are sold out in my size.  It does come in a wide range of color options.  The material is light and wrinkle-resistant.  It has a stitching detail about four inches from the bottom that is a nice detail.  The racerback cut isn’t too extreme, but enough that you have to wear a bra that crosses in the back.

If you were here for Wednesday’s post you got the skinny on this cute jumpsuit.  I have decided that I am going to add a second option by have button holes added to the tie straps and buttons to the inside back of the jumpsuit so that it can be worn in full overall style.  You can’t see the front overall pocket in this photo, but it is there and it is darling!

This picture doesn’t do this dress justice.  It has a stitching detail inset from the neckline, adjustable straps and a smocked back.  It is made from the softest material.  You could wear a standard strapless bra with it, but I chose to go with my silicon strapless, backless bra as it doesn’t work its way down as you move about.

Isn’t my Bitty so cute?!  I know, I’m partial:)  She and I both fell in love with this little romper as soon as we saw it.  She is generally more of an athleisure wear type of gal, but the color of this romper made it less feminine so she was in.  It is a linen/linen-blend material, so it is going to shrink.  I explained to her that we need to make sure NOT to dry it or it won’t fit (then I proceeded to jump online and order it in the next size up for when we do dry it)!  My chambray tunic dress is super soft and the perfect length.  I bought it in an XS Petite.  The last thing I ordered from Old Navy was this in a shirt – a button down chambray shirt.  I ordered it in an XS Petite as well and it was virtually a belly shirt!  I immediately ‘passed it down’ to the Bitty.

These shorts have become my favorite pair of white shorts because they are the perfect length.  Their distressing and frayed hem keep them current, while the length makes them a very comfortable mom-length.  When I ordered this scalloped neckline cami I had thought it was a gray color, but it is actually a lavender color.  Again, I chose to wear my silicon bra.  The back of this cami is straight across, but it dips somewhat low.  A regular strapless bra would probably show.  I actually tried this lace bralette (love it!), but it peeked through the scallops, taking away from the cute scalloped neckline.

I hope you have a great weekend!  The weather here in Illinois is supposed to break.  It has been super humid with intermittent storms this week.  We are looking forward to low 80’s and sunshine for the weekend, woohoo!
