Target Try-On Session

Hi Guys! It’s been a while… like a month. I’m sure you’ve all survived just fine without me, but I have to say that I’ve missed you guys! I hope your August has been amazing and you have been able to enjoy some great time with your littles before sending them back to school.

We spent three weeks as what we lovingly refer to as ‘fair rats.’ Sounds a little scary, right?! It’s not. We worked all summer with the kids’ livestock projects to culminate at our state fair shows. After spending a week in the camper at our local county fair we immediately reloaded and headed to our state fair for two weeks where our kids showed four species – cattle, sheep, hogs and goats. It was a crazy couple of days with very little sleep and lots of stress. However, the sweet victory of seeing our oldest daughter win Grand Champion Land of Lincoln Steer and our youngest daughter win Reserve Champion Wether Goat made it all worth it.

The kids headed back to school on Tuesday. Tara is a senior, Chase an 8th grader and Kadie a 6th grader. Tara had her first volleyball game on Tuesday and basketball starts for Kadie this coming Monday. Fall is going to zoom by, I can already tell. On a positive thought of time passing quickly, the Pumpkin Spice Latte will officially be back on August 28th – yay!

Target Try-Ons

Any-who… with the kids back in school I am working to get back into my own routine, which includes a weekly grocery run (and this week a quick pitstop at Target). I was having withdrawals! The following is what I ended up hauling into the fitting room to try out. Mostly comfy and cozy items… fall is calling.

I had to buy this tee. Chase, my 13 year old, is infatuated with dinosaurs. His dream ‘job’ is the be a geneticist and bring back/turn genes on in order to recreate dinosaurs. It is also super soft!

I watched Gilmore Girls… many years ago. Between the great fall color and the buttery softness of the material I had to try this tee on.

I am not generally one to wear a graphic tee. I see them on others and think they look hip and a little edgy and love it, but wouldn’t classify my style as either of those things. I thought this one was kind of an in-between option – not too edgy, but as far as it gets for me.

This was another ‘edgy’ piece. It has a sweatshirt lining that zips and has a hood. I tried on an XS and thought it fit a little big.

I bought this top for my oldest daughter. She has a bit of a hippy streak in her when it comes to clothes and this was screaming her name.

This knit top is SO SOFT! So soft!! It’s long enough that it could be worn with leggings too. I think it would be super cute with a lacey bralette underneath, peaking out of the neckline. Notice the cute gathered detail on the back too, cute!

I’ve added several oversized, plain sweatshirts to my closet over the last month. This one is a good one too. I sized up to a medium for a more relaxed fit.

Last, but not least, this striped v-neck tee. It has a cute pocket detail and is a great fit. It is hard to tell, but the stripes are a burgandy color – perfect for fall. It will layer great under cardigans and light jackets. I tried it on in a small for a slightly looser fit and with the assumption that it will shrink some when dried.
