Spring Must Haves

The Illinois weather is finally starting to warm up, giving me a spring fever bug to gather some fresh spring items for my wardrobe.  I’ve gathered some items to share with you today that I will be adding to my closet over the next month.  My thought for this conglomeration of items is to be able to pair all of these items with separates that will allow the item to be dressed up or down.  These things can get you through every day wear, as well as graduations, spring/summer gatherings and possibly even weddings.  I hope you enjoy these spring must-have’s that I have started adding to my wardrobe.

Shoes

I love shoes… a little too much maybe.  Is that possible?  My husband would tell you ‘Absolutely.’ A nice pair of heeled nude sandals is a closet staple that every woman should have.  I have a higher heeled pair and a lower block heeled pair.  I wear the block heeled pair way more than the heeled pair.  Although I love the heeled pair and how feminine they make me feel the reality is that after a couple hours my feet hurt and all I can think about is getting them off.  If you don’t have a pair yet I would recommend the lower block heel style.

I have been eyeing these Sole Society espadrilles for the last month.  I am contemplating whether I can keep the white clean enough or not.  They are so pretty.  What do you think?

Then there are these wedged sandals.  The heel is actually relatively small when you take into account the platformed toe, so they look like they would be comfortable to wear all day.  Can you tell that I have a thing for shoes with an ankle strap?  It adds a classy, feminine touch.

Tops

Peplum tops are super popular right now and are just too cute.  They are flattering on most body types too.  This simple peplum tee has been all over social media and can easily be dressed up or down.

These Madewell tanks have a great cut with a v-neck that is the perfect depth.  Not too high or too low.  I have it in white, pink and gray and am thinking I need the striped one too!  They can easily be dressed up by throwing a blazer or a cardigan overtop.

You can’t ever have too many camis.  I have yet to add one with the scalloped detail to my wardrobe and this pretty gray color will be a great alternative to white or cream.  It’s only $30 too!

These two gingham tops are calling to me, especially the ruffled one.  Isn’t it darling?

Shorts

I’m totally crushing on these paper bag shorts.  They work with either the v-neck tanks or the scalloped cami tucked into them.  Which pair is your favorite?

Pants

After loving the hot pink pair of palazzo pants I blogged about after seeing them on Instagram I have been really drawn to them.  This khaki pair is very versatile and could be dressed up to be worn to an event, but just as easily could be worn to run errands and have you looking chic while doing it!  The same for this white pair too, but the worry about getting dirty may be strong with these.  Aren’t they classy though?

One pair of super distressed jeans needs to be in the spring/summer wardrobe for all of the casual days.  I picture this pair at a ball game, but could also see them with heels and a cami. They are very reasonably priced too at $55.

Dresses

I could wear dresses almost every day when the weather is warm, but for those that would rather not finding that dress that makes you feel comfortable is important.  Some outings require donning a dress.  Here are a few that I would wear regularly.  I am really loving this lighter tone of chambray and can’t seem to get enough of it.  I really like the top ‘cami style’ of the darker blue dress.  The gray dress in the center has an open, strappy back.  Make sure to check it out!  Stripes again, I love stripes.  And then there is this strapless romper that offers a dressy feel without the actual dress.  It also brings in the paper bag shorts that I am digging right now.  Can it get any more perfect?  I ordered this romper and can’t wait for it to arrive!  It is only $45!!
